First Blog. What a Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich Meal with Booda created...

I'M HERE!!! The man who was ABSOLUTELY opposed to blogs decided to create one, lol. Audrey asked me one day what blogs I'm subscribed to, I replied "NONE." They never interested me due to the fact that they are based solely on opinions, and so I never chose to create one because at the end of the day no ones opinion matters to me but my own, fore I Am Hand. Well yesterday afternoon (August 1st, 2007) after hours tending to Booda's flat tires, we decided to grab lunch at Wendy's in Bayside Queens. We were speaking about a few peoples' blogs and he asked why don't I blog and I told him because my blog would be strictly based on my Handsomeness and the workings of Handsome Island (the nickname created from a heated convo one night with my super-duper homie Jeselt, the bio-chem Nerd, for the crazy little world I live in located behind the prettiest thing the Lord ever created - my face ;-) - my mind...) and thats where it hit me! That would be perfect! Another place besides my music to vent out the inner struggles of Hand (if you haven't figured it out by now "Hand" is short for "Handsome" and Handsome is yours truly). Well I figure my first blog should be about something thats on my mind recently and that something is something Booda and I had discussed and so did Joe Budden. Its about people overusing the title "The Best", here we vamos...

Since the beginning of time people have claimed to be the best at this and the best at that, some really are, MOST really aren't. The problem with people, I think, is that they're so insecure and so bent on getting attention, that they know the only way to get recognized is to talk massive ish! They need attention because deep inside they know they aren't the best but if you say it long enough somebody will listen. That specific idiot who did listen will actually tell you and others that he thinks you're the best but he doesn't really notice its because you've beat it into his head 439,288 times! Perfect example of this is Lil' Wayne. About 3 years ago he was sitting in Baby's mansion and noticed that Cash Money was losing its spark and that he was going to go down with the ship because he clearly was W-A-C-K! So he conjured up this plan to adopt the flow and writing style of an east-coast rapper (Gillie Da Kid) with hopes of attracting attention by spittin' east style but being from the south. After stealing Gillie's style he spent months replaying Jay-Z's "The Blueprint". So he began spitting what he thought Jay would say and force-feeding the title "Best Rapper Alive" to everyone he came in contact with. Fast forward to the present - July 2007, Lil' Wayne is named the #1 rapper on MTV's top 10 rappers alive list! AHAHAHAHA! YOU SEE WHAT THE POWER OF PERSUASION CAN DO?! And now that brings me to the second and most important part of this argument - JUST BECAUSE YOU "PERSUADE" PEOPLE TO BELIEVE THIS BY REPEATING IT AND ACTING CONFIDENT WHEN YOU DO SAY IT, IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE IT! Seriously, use your brains - IF YOU HAVE TO SAY YOU'RE THE BEST THEN BUDDY YOU CLEARLY AREN'T!!! "The Best" is a title thats earned through recognition for your actual work, not because you decided it on one lonely night while feeling bad for yourself!

People take it from me, I am the original "SH**-TALKER" before Kanye ever spoke a word on record I was talkin' that ish about I'm nice at this and I'm nice at that, and the funny part is that I actually did and do feel this way but I've realized everybody's taking that overboard and its actually pathetic already. As where I said those things from the heart because I really felt it, many today say it because they've seen it work for me or for others and they'll sit there and tell you with an honest face "Nah but thats how I really feel, I'm not just saying it to impress you, I'm saying it 'cuz its the truth!" - IT'S NOT, trust me. Age has brought me many things, the most important thing being wisdom. I've sat and self-reflected many times in the past few years and I've realized some things are better left unsaid. If I sat here and told you I'm the best rapper there is, would you believe me? Most likely yes because the truth is I am nice on the mic (LMAO!) but if it had to come from my mouth first then I'd rather never hear you say it.

Well thats enough for this post, theres a lot more I wish to say but it just doesn't come out right now (I'm a first-timer people! lol) I have no idea how many will read, or if any will read, but I'm glad I got to do this. This lets me reflect and talk to "me" in a way that people can see the conversations I have with myself and give me feedback rather than me argue over and over with my other selves, Peoples or Guapo or that SUPER annoying KNOW-IT-ALL Johnny Contreras.
